Dr. Deborah Wilson, MD

Dr. Deborah WilsonDr. Deborah Wilson is a Gynecologist certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed five years of specialty training at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia and St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix after completing her medical school training at George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Wilson undergoes re-certification in her specialty each year, and stays current with the latest advances in the field by regularly pursuing continuing medical education. She has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Scottsdale Shea Medical Staff and has twice been Chairperson of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee.

Dr. Wilson has distinguished herself in the field of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She and Kurt Sanders, RN First Assist, teach a popular national course on laparoscopic hysterectomy in conjunction with Gyrus/ACMI. The course is designed for Gynecologists who are looking to learn operative and suturing technique as well as pitfalls, management of difficult surgical problems, and avoidance of complications. Every month, over 20 Gynecologists fly to Scottsdale from all over the country for lectures and live surgery demonstrations. Dr. Wilson and Kurt Sanders are honored to share their vast surgical experience with other Gynecologists in order to further the cause of minimally invasive hysterectomy nationwide. Dr. Wilson has presented many papers and videos at the Global Congress of Gynecologic Endoscopy. She presented an instructional video at the International Congress on the Contemporary Management of Fibroids. She has also spoken on Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy at the annual Phoenix conference; Controversies in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She and her team have almost 4,000 laparoscopic hysterectomies over the past 10 years.

Dr. Wilson has four grown children. Aria, age 30, is putting the last touches on her dissertation, and will earn her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2010. Aria blessed Dr. Wilson with her first grandchild on October 7, 2009. Judd, age 27, is in law school. Ashley, age 25, is working on her masters degree in Psychology and plans to enter a second masters program in International Relief Work next year. Chad, age 23, is a senior at University of Southern California.

Dr. Deborah WilsonDr. Wilson is an animal rights advocate and a vegan. She has been active in many organizations including Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Humane Society of the United States, Farm Sanctuary, and PETA. She has published editorials and been featured on television for her animal rights views. She was featured in a video sent to thousands of Chandler residents, encouraging them to oppose Covance animal testing laboratories in Chandler. Most recently, she was honored on an MSNBC segment of "Making a Difference".

Dr. Wilson is on the Board of Directors of Audubon Arizona and Liberty Wildlife. She has volunteered on medical missions to Nicaragua. A substantial portion of the office income is regularly contributed to non-profit organizations such as these.

Dr. Wilson is the Director of the Feathers Foundation and the Circle L Ranch. The Feathers Foundation is a non-profit foundation devoted to rescue of parrots, dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, sheep, turkeys, and chickens who would have otherwise been abandoned, euthanized, or slaughtered. The Circle L Ranch is a 37-acre rescue ranch in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The Circle L Ranch houses over 50 sanctuary horses, 100 goats, and various chickens, sheep, geese, cows, a rabbit and a mule. The ranch also offers old, unwanted dogs a place to live out the remainder of their lives after being discarded by their owners.

Dr. Wilson just opened a small shelter (Lucky Paws) at 5130 East Thomas Road in Phoenix, where dogs and cats rescued from euthanasia are available for adoption. Dr. Wilson is a certified yoga instructor and practices regularly. She is a vegan and has a particular interest in vegan diet and the prevention of disease.

Dr. Rachel Spieldoch, MD
Dr. Rachel SpieldochDr. Rachel Spieldoch is a board certified Gynecologist and fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Spieldoch specializes in minimally invasive surgery, which includes Advanced Laparoscopic surgery as well as Vaginal and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive surgery. She is additionally certified in Robotic Laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Spieldoch is actively involved with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, she completed her medical school training at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She then went on to complete four years of specialty training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a program known for its emphasis on minimally invasive surgery. Currently, Dr. Spieldoch remains current with new advances in gynecology by establishing re-certification and continuing medical education on an annual basis.

Dr. Spieldoch has published several articles within the medical sciences and presented her research at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology national meeting. Additionally, she spent time practicing medicine with the Indian Health Services on the Apache reservation in Whiteriver, Arizona

In her free time, Dr. Spieldoch enjoys many athletic activities including tennis, spinning classes, skiing, and hiking. She also enjoys the Arts and attends local theater and music venues within the Phoenix area. Dr. Spieldoch is an animal lover and seems to have a soft spot for elephant wildlife to which she donates annually. Finally, she enjoys traveling and learning about different cultural groups. Outside of the United States, she has spent time in France, Austria, Grenada and Costa Rica.

Debra S. Wickman, M.D.

Debra Wickman, MDDr. Debra Wickman is a gynecologist certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed medical school at University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, and continued on there to complete her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After several years of private practice in obstetrics and gynecology, she went to University of California, Los Angeles to complete a year-long postgraduate fellowship in Female Sexual Medicine through the Department of Urology. She spent the year doing research projects in the Female Sexual Medicine Center, providing patient care in the Center, and presenting the research findings at several national meetings. She then went back to University of Washington as a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she enjoyed training resident physicians and medical students, and seeing patients in her private clinic. Dr. Wickman and her family decided to return to the Phoenix area, where she had been working in a busy ob-gyn practice in Chandler for the past couple years.

Dr. Wickman is excited about the study of menopause, and is actively involved with the North American Menopause Society. She is a certified menopause practitioner since 2003, and regularly attends the annual meeting. She is also a member of the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health. She is experienced in prescribing bioidentical hormone therapy, and treating problems related to aging, menopause and sexual dysfunction. She is committed to helping women sort through the many issues they face, providing up-to-date information, and working together to reach the best possible solution that meets their individual needs. She also specializes in sexual medicine and
vulvar problems.

Dr. Wickman is married to Rob Bych, a Captain for Southwest Airlines. They have three children — a 10 year-old daughter, Carly; then 6 year-old twin girls, Cassi and Cammi. The children are involved in Suzuki violin/cello lessons and are avid soccer players. The family includes a 3 year-old golden doodle named Piper, who loves to participate in all family outings — even going up in the airplane after which she is named. Dr. Wickman loves animals. She donates to the Humane Society of the United States, and has participated in volunteer trips to San Felipe, Mexico to vaccinate, spay and neuter stray cats and dogs. Finally, Dr. Wickman and her family enjoy many outdoor activities, spending their free time flying, kayaking, river rafting, and hiking.

Peggy DeCarolis, RNC, MS, WHCNP

Peggy DeCarolisPeggy graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was inducted into the National Honor Society of Nursing in 1979. As a Registered Nurse, her career experience includes intensive care, emergency medicine, labor and delivery, including high risk obstetrics and gynecology. She joined Dr. Wilson's practice in 1999. Peggy has a Masters of Science degree in Woman's Health Care from ASU and is a Nationally Certified Nurse Practitioner. Her graduate studies incorporated a concentration on Adolescent Sexual Behaviors with an emphasis on sexually transmitted diseases, teen pregnancy and decision-making.

Peggy's special interests include women's health promotion and disease prevention. She received training in evaluation and management of abnormal pap smears and is certified in colposcopy. Her practice also includes contraceptive therapy, menopause and hormone replacement therapy and well-woman examinations for women of all ages. Peggy has a passion for educating women from adolescence to post menopause. She believes that through education her patients become active partners in their health care. Her primary goal is for her patients to receive a thorough and caring experience.

Peggy is married and has two sons, four rescue cats and a German Shepherd puppy that she is training for community service. Peggy loves traveling with her husband.

Paula Mazzacano, RNC, MSN, WHCNP
Paula MazzacanoPaula has been involved in women's health for over 10 years. She graduated with her Master in Science Degree and became a Woman's Health Care Nurse Practitioner in 1999. She is skilled in many areas of gynecology, such as hormone replacement therapy, contraceptive management, breast exams, ultrasounds, and colposcopy. She also has particular expertise in the area of endocrinology and infertility.

Paula feels that some of her best attributes include being a good listener and compassionate to her patients. Paula has a passion for educating women of all ages, but being that she is the youngest practitioner she relates well to teenagers and young adults.

Paula is married and has two small children, a son and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys running regularly since she can do this with both of her children in the double jogging stroller.

Robin L. Parry, RNC, MS, FNP-C
Robin ParryRobin Parry is married with two sons and one daughter. She graduated from Arizona State University with her Bachelor's and Master's degree with a certification in Family Health. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Robin was a nurse, specializing in women's health - working for several years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.

Robin's expertise includes general gynecologic examinations, menopausal hormone evaluation and pellet management, and colposcopic evaluation of abnormal pap smears. She particularly enjoys adolescent gynecology. She takes her profession very seriously and has a loyal and enthusiastic following.

Robin has a special interest in Adolescent Public Health and was involved in the committee establishing an Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Parenting education program for the Scottsdale school district. She focused her educational research on this subject. In addition, Robin also established a Domestic Violence screening tool at a local hospital in an effort to identify women at risk.

Robin has a diverse background with a career as a professional singer followed by banking and ultimately, her niche - women's health care.

Sandy Steinke
Sandy SteinkeSandy Steinke is our customer service manager. If you have a problem, she is the one who will solve it for you.

Sandy has been a cornerstone of this practice for 20 years. She began her affiliation with Dr. Wilson and her family while Dr. Wilson was still doing her residency. Sandy was a nanny for Dr. Wilson's children and then transitioned into working in the office shortly after the office opened.

A former entrepreneur, Sandy has applied to her current role the same customer relations and business savvy that made her previous business, a high end salon, successful and welcoming. Today, she handles all patient relations management, medical records processes, and specialized appointments.

In her free time, Sandy enjoys travel, spending time with her family, and interior decorating. She has one daughter, Sheridan Vingelli, a graduate of the Garvin School of International Management at Thunderbird. Sheridan is now a global marketing consultant.

Sandy regularly travels and relaxes with Sheridan, son-in-law John, and their rescue dog Max.

Sandy LeDuke

Sandy LeDukeSandy was born and raised here in the Valley, and enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her artistic husband Jack, friends, family, and her St. Bernard, Clancy. Sandy is also actively involved in Dr. Wilson's animal rescue organizations, volunteering a large amount of her spare time.

Sandy has been in the nursing profession for 30 years with experience ranging from geriatrics, pediatrics, oncology, addiction medicine, and hospice care. She is available in the triage nursing department to help you with questions and concerns. Sandy is a recent breast cancer survivor and works as a patient advocate for the doctors and nurse practitioners.

Summer A. Potocnik

Summer PotocnikSummer Potocnik grew up in a suburb outside of Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Arizona in 2002. She made the decision to further her education and began attending Lamson College in the fall of 2003. Summer began her externship in this office in November 2005 and earned her associate's degree in health and sciences in December 2005. She was hired for this office in January 2006. She took the national certification board exam for medical assistants in March 2006 and passed. She is now a nationally certified medical assistant for this practice.

Summer's job includes sending all e-mail correspondence for Dr. Wilson and the other physicians/providers in the office. She also discusses patient test results with patients, calls in prescriptions and handles all prescription refill requests, makes return phone calls to patients, and assists in the front and back office when needed. Summer is also responsible for doing prior-authorizations for our patients when needed as well as many other duties. She truly enjoys the patient contact and being able to help fulfill their needs.

Her other enjoyments in life include reading, swimming, cooking, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite past time is spending time with her 13-year-old maltese, Popcorn. She is truly the love of Summer's life and Popcorn enjoys every moment that Summer has to spend with her! In a nutshell, Summer enjoys spending time with the pets and the people in her life!

Grace Wisniewska

Grace WisniewskaGrace has been in the medical field since 1979, in both European and American healthcare. She is fluent in four languages: Polish, Russian, French, and English and is able to assist with translation. Grace has been working for Dr. Wilson since June 1997. She is the senior back office medical assistant for Dr. Wilson and the other providers of this practice and takes enormous pride in her work.

Grace enjoys spending time with family and close friends. She is passionate about jazz music and loves to attends jazz concerts. Accompanying Grace on her daily walks is Frankie, her darling cocker spaniel. She also enjoys her "get a ways" to Sedona. This is her oasis where she gains rejuvenation and her positive outlook for life!

Sheryl Germinaro

Sheryl GerminaroSheryl has recently taken over the position of Practice Manager. She is a Certified Professional Coder and obtained her certification while getting her basic training in billing, insurance and coding at Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale.

That was in 1993 and since then she has used her expertise in a variety of areas, including her own billing and coding business.

She is a current member, and past president, of the local coding chapter: Grand Canyon Coders in Phoenix.

Her special areas of interest are E&M coding, Evaluation & Management and surgery coding. We are very fortunate to have Sheryl oversee our practice as well as our billing department.

She has two grown children and one granddaughter; when not spending time with them, she dotes on her other kids, three Chinese Shari Pei's named Sadee, Offbeat and Oscar, and one Rat Terrier named Ashlee. Sheryl also enjoys hiking our local mountains, kickboxing and riding her Harley.

Oliver

Shannon OliverShannon Oliver was born in Billings, Montana and moved to Arizona in 1989.

She has always been interested in the medical field and has worked in the medical profession for 15 years. She first started out as a physical therapy technician and then decided to become a medical assistant and through our office was sent back to school to be a surgical technician.

Shannon has been with our office since 2002. She is a surgical coordinator for Dr. Wilson, Dr. Spieldoch and Dr. Wickman. She educates and prepares patients for their upcoming surgeries and follows them in their post-op period. She also prepares the in-office procedures and assists the doctors with Novasure, Thermachoice and Essure procedures.

Shannon has an 11-year-old daughter. They are very active in sports — their first love is soccer. When not at work, Shannon and her daughter love to be outside and spend time with family and friends. They have 3 adorable Chihuahuas and a 6-month old kitten named Fergie.

Carol Ratliff

Carol RatliffCarol was employed by Discover Card in 1998; there she enjoyed working with people and helping them resolve collection issues for 8 years. She also held the position of collections supervisor and received numerous awards. Carol then decided it was time for a new career and attended Bryman School while working full time in collections. She earned her diploma in medical billing and coding.

Carol now serves on the Bryman School advisory board as well as serving on the corporate board of High Tech Institute of Technology.

Soon after earning her degree, Carol came to work for our office in billing and collections. She has been a major asset to our office where among her many duties she works insurance billing, appeals, denials, account receivables, aging and ICD-9 and CPT coding, patient billing and collections. She is currently studying to sit for the certified coders exam. If you have any billing problem with your account or Medicare, Carol is sure to help you.

Carol has three daughters, a 4-year-old grandson, and a 14-month-old granddaughter.

She also lives with her fiancé and his two children. She enjoys spending time with her two pugs that she just adores – Baby and Ray-Ray – and her newest addition Poncho, her 5-year-old Chihuahua.

Amy Rocosky

Amy RocoskyAmy moved to the Valley from Sterling Heights, Michigan four years ago. She has been working in the medical profession for about 10 years. She has her Bachelor's degree in Arts and Science from Western Michigan University, as well as nutrition and personal training certification.

In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors with her husband, Kurt and Shepherd/Retriever mix, Corky. Amy also loves traveling, concerts, and socializing with her family and friends.

Amy is available in the triage department to help with your questions and concerns. She loves working as an advocate for the patients and doctors, and is focused on continuing her education in the medical field.

Susan Menola

Susan MenolaSusan has a natural passion for the skin industry. She is a Licensed Aesthetician, Certified Laser Technician and Certified in Light Wave Technology.

A graduate from the Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics, Susan's focus is on the full spectrum of skin care and is committed to getting her clients results.

Susan relocated to Phoenix from Chicago in November of 1994. Susan loves to hike, cook and travel. She lives in the North Phoenix area and is very happy with her fiancé and three dogs.
